01
The Reason it is difficult to install FELT.
You need to know the exact requirements
of the pool table rails, pockets, leveling and
prepping the slate.
02
RUINED CLOTH
Stretch the cloth in the wrong direction will
waste money and create a poor playing surface.
03
TABLE LEVELING ISSUES
Need a professional mechanical level to
properly level a table.
04
TABLE ROLL..
Shimming the table takes experience,
otherwise you will have TABLE ROLL!
05
RAIL HEADACHES
HARD to remove rails without
damaging them. NEED Professional & expensive glue to install the rails. Height must be accurate or balls will jump off the table or die when hitting rail.
06
POCKETS
Some pockets divide into four pieces and are bolted and screwed separately from the rails
07
SLATE CLEANING
The slate needs to be cleaned of old glue and or residue has to be scraped off.
08
3 PIECE SLATE
Tables usually consit of 3 pieces of slate that will need the seams sealed. Yes, slate is very HEAVY to work with and easy to CRACK!
09
WRONG SIZE
Easy to order the wrong size cloth for your table due to homeowners do not account for the extra that is needed.
10
MEASURE TWICE CUT ONCE.
Felt comes in one large piece and you need to cut the piece to fit your table and your rails. Many frustrated homeowners call me after they have cut their table cloth for their rails and not the right size for their slate.
11
FACE UP!
YES, your table cloth has a FACE UP playing surface and easy to install the wrong side up!
12
STRETCHING
Your Table cloth needs to be stretched taught and evenly across the table or face removing the staples and starting over again. Over stretching leads could lead to slow table action.
13
TRIMMING
Yes, trimming the material in the pocket and stapling it inside is difficult and rips easily.
14
CRACKED SLATE
The worst, when a homeowner discovers their slate is cracked, chipped and or they have warped rails. Call a professional to make the needed repairs before it gets WORSE!
